On July 23 and 24, 2005, there was a workshop to commemorate the 15th Anniversary of the founding of the high shrines in Edmonton and Calgary. It was taught by Jim Nicholson and Mung-Fong Woon and the workshop traced the same route that Master Moy took as he openned each shrine: Saturday in Edmonton and Sunday in Calgary.
On the Friday before the workshop, a group of volunteers stayed up quite late sewing the chanting gowns with fasteners. Of course, the chefs have to be planning and preparing many days before these events. The activities of Saturday and Sunday were echoed in Edmonton and Calgary. The morning had chanting, temple tours, a free Jai (vegetarian) banquest, lion dancers, and a tai chi workshop. Calgary had a huge turn-out for their banquet, there were between 300-400 pairs of shoes at the door!
