Fung Lok Kok Taoist Temple

Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism observes the unified teachings of the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Its mission is to deliver all from suffering, both the living and the dead, by pursuing the way of community service, rituals and ceremonies, and the cultivation of body and mind.

Fung Loy Kok was co-founded by Master Moy Lin-shin and Mr. Mui Ming To in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong in 1968. The temple's teachings are deeply rooted in the ancient spiritual traditions and culture of China. For more information visit our International website.

The Edmonton Westend location has a high shrine that was enlivened in June of 1990 by Mr. Mui Ming To. With a Taoist temple on site, members can see the rich heritage underlying our practice and be introduced to the spiritual dimensions of the training. Special temple events are listed on the right side of this page; contact us at the Westend if you would like more information.

Chanting

Chanting involves the recitation of transliterated Confusist, Buddhist and Taoist Scripture. This is a meditative experience as well as being a good cardiovascular exercise. Chanting is normally followed by a light lunch costing $5.00. Everyone is invited. No experience necessary. Visit the events section on the Edmonton homepage for the schedule of the next chanting session.
